Perhaps the busiest time of year for florists is February, leading up to Valentine’s Day. One of the most popular gifts for any holiday are flower arrangements for Valentine’s. Flowers, and roses in particular, are closely associated with love in our culture, and it is almost expected of some people to express their affection with a gift of flowers on February 14. There are many different types of Valentine’s arrangements, but the most popular gift is a bunch of red roses. These flowers are traditionally associated with romantic love, and are a common sight during this time. Other colors of roses are becoming more popular, mainly pink and red ones. Still, there are a wide variety of flower arrangements for Valentine’s Day to choose from.
Some feature roses prominently, highlighting them with purple irises or white baby’s breath. Others might combine red, white, and pink roses into one bouquet, creating a colorful but still traditional arrangement. For those who prefer more unique gifts, there are arrangements with other species of flowers like tulips and lilies. Tulips also come in various shades of red, pink, and of course white, using traditional Valentine’s colors with a different (and less allergenic) species of flower. Lilies are also a popular choice, as they are a more exotic flower. Arrangements for Valentine’s Day come not only with different flowers, but in many different sizes as well. You might select a small arrangement as a small token, or in combination with another gift. Others will choose a large arrangement for a grander gesture.
